On February 28th 2009, the fourth annual Quebec Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Snow Run, known as the “Randonnée des Neiges de Kelly Shires”, will take place at the 4 Points by Sheraton, in the beautiful city of Quebec.
This sport event, initially reserved to women, aims at raising funds to help people in their fight against breast cancer through a fun day of snowmobiling. New to this year, there will be one co-ed team riding with the 4 other categories of lady riders.
The opening ceremonies will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a moment of silence in memory of all those that, like Kelly Shires in 2004, lost their battle to breast cancer. Participants will then head off on the beautiful trails of the region of Quebec for the day, with a convivial stop for lunch time, where all teams will gather. The ladies will return to the 4 Points hotel late afternoon ending the fun filled day with an award dinner, testimonies, entertainment and auctions. Among the highlights of the evening will be the draw of our raffle, with prizes to be announced shortly.
The theme of the snow run is “women helping women”. This snowmobile ride aims at raising funds to financially assist women and men diagnosed with breast cancer and, more generally, raising awareness about this reality. Participants are encouraged to raise pledges for the charity. Everything from the pledges, to raffles and silent auctions are done to help raise funds for these women and men who are battling breast cancer. Following the record amount of 80,000$ raised in 2008 in Quebec, the goal of this year’s snow run is raising 100,000$!

Please note that the 10th edition of the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Snow Run will take place in Ontario on February 7th 2009 at Deerhurst resort in Huntsville; this will be a huge milestone.
